Requirements

  • - Registered healthcare professional
  • - UK, EEA, or EU resident for at least the past three years to undertake an apprenticeship training programme
  • - Completion of the relevant Advanced Practice Post Graduate Diploma
  • - A portfolio of evidence containing supervised learning events which demonstrate completion of the clinical element of the core curriculum outlined in the Multi-Professional Advanced Clinical Practice Framework (HEE 2017)
  • - Ability to work both within a team and on own initiatives
  • - Enjoyment of a fast-paced challenging environment
  • - Approval from substantive manager if currently employed by STH to undertake this apprenticeship on a temporary basis

Responsibilities

  • - Undertake clinical assessments for acute and elective oncology patients
  • - Order and carry out investigations and initiate treatments within defined competence and protocols in collaboration with senior clinicians and the multi-professional team
  • - Lead, develop, implement, and evaluate the delivery of elective assessment services
  • - Provide leadership and clinical support to nurses working in the service in conjunction with the multi-disciplinary and senior nursing team
  • - Work within a team but also on their own initiatives
