  • * A minimum of 7 camera assistant credits, or equivalent on a long running production/s.
  • * Experience of focus pulling
  • * A good working knowledge of camera equipment and accessories
  • * Genuine interest, intrigue and enthusiasm about cameras and how to get the best shots
  • * Knowledge of relevant Health & Safety guidelines and Legislation
  • * Experience and examples of carrying out instructions with accuracy and attention to detail
  • * Experience and examples of when you have worked in environments where there are conflicting priorities and problems to solve
  • * Experience and examples of when you have worked as part of a team and shared tasks with others as well as taking direction
  • * Passion for soaps and Welsh drama - particularly Pobol Y Cwm and/or Anfamol

Responsibilities

  • Building on your existing knowledge of the camera department, we will support you to hone your focus pulling skills, ensuring shots are sharp and in focus.
  • You will lead on setting up cameras and be guided on how to troubleshoot and gain the confidence to flag and communicate issues clearly to the Director, DOP and Post Production.
  • Understanding the planning, prep and paperwork required for production is essential for anyone who wants to work in TV so 7 days covering this side of what we do is invaluable.
  • 5 days in studio will give trainees concentrated time to try out equipment and learn without the interruption of filming.
