What qualifications are required to apply for this internship?
Applicants should be undertaking a bachelor's and/or master's degree with a physics, electrical engineering, computer science, or a similar high-tech background.
Will I receive training during the internship?
Yes, interns will attend training sessions that provide insight into patent protection, the role of a patent attorney, and key IP rights and laws.
Will I have a mentor during the internship?
Yes, each intern is assigned a mentor and a supervisor for the duration of the internship, with the mentor typically being a current patent scientist, associate, or senior associate.
Can I be considered for a permanent position during the internship?
Yes, those who are successful in receiving an offer of an internship will be considered for a permanent patent scientist/trainee patent attorney opportunity during the internship.
What skills and experience are preferred for this internship?
Preferred candidates will demonstrate a professional attitude, excellent communication skills, research and presentation abilities, self-motivation, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure.
