Description

  • Our Transportation group provides comprehensive planning, design, and engineering services for all phases of roadway, transit, rail, and bridge projects. We are currently seeking co-op/interns for our multi-disciplinary team. We are looking for highly motivated individuals who can work in a team environment, are keen to learn and want to be involved in exciting local and regional projects.

Requirements

  • Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelors or Masters Engineering Program
  • Self-motivated individual with the ability to work in a team environment
  • Basic understanding of general civil design concepts in relevant areas
  • Basic understanding of software such as AutoCAD or Synchro would be considered an asset
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite of programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • High emphasis on attention to detail and accuracy
  • Team player with a positive attitude

Responsibilities

  • With guidance, perform geometric design and 3D modeling
  • Support development of design plans and assist with preparation of technical specifications and quantity estimates as required
  • Assist with the preparation of engineering reports and technical studies, including basic calculations
  • Coordinate with other disciplines including structural, geotechnical, stormwater and streetlighting to ensure interdisciplinary design integration
  • Additional duties may include assisting with project coordination, field work and proposal preparation
