Requirements

  • Internship level transportation infrastructure opportunity is available for candidates with minimal experience. Candidate must be available for internship during Summer 2024.
  • Strong writing skills and ability to work independently is highly desired.
  • Proficiency with MS Office software, specifically Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, is required.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3d, and/or Microstation OpenRoads is a plus.
  • Education and Experience:
  • Current enrollment in an accredited BS or MS degree in Civil Engineering program is preferred.
  • Current enrollment in a technical design or CADD program will also be considered.
  • Previous internship or employment in the consulting industry is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • The successful candidate will have varying responsibilities in support of our planning, design, and construction project teams, including:
  • Learning from project managers and technical design staff to prepare design calculations and project documentation
  • Learn and/or improve your fundamental computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) skills and begin developing skills in the roadway design software packages such as AutoCAD Civil 3d and Microstation OpenRoads
  • Work with experienced engineers and designers to develop construction drawing plans sets for local, state, and nationwide projects
  • Develop and utilize excel files to perform design calculations
  • Edit and review technical reports
