Requirements

  • Actively pursuing a Master’s degree from an accredited institution in Urban and Regional Planning, Civil Engineering, or associated field with an emphasis on Transportation Planning
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and Power Point)
  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong work ethic aligning with the company’s mission and core values
  • Must reside and/or attend an institution (physical or online) near Miami, FL
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2.5 GPA or higher
  • GIS experience (ArcGIS Pro and/Arc Map, a plus)
  • Experience or exposure to transportation planning in Florida
  • Specific interest in Transportation Planning

Responsibilities

  • Provide support for Travel Demand Modeling, Transportation System/Network Planning and Operations, Transit Planning, Freight Planning, Transportation Master Plans, Complete Streets, Pedestrian/Bicycle Facilities Planning, Land Use Planning and Environmental Planning
  • Conduct research, data collection and analysis
  • GIS, Mapping and development of representative figures
  • Assist in report development and meeting preparation / support
  • Perform basic calculations

Is this internship remote?

While some tasks may be performed remotely, the expectation is that the student will work on-site for up to 29 hours per week. Most AYPTIs will average 15-20 hours per week on-site.
