Requirements

  • Education:Currently enrolled in Mercy Hospital Springfields Advanced Ultrasound Training Program or in an accredited school of ultrasound imaging and performing their clinical rotations at Mercy.
  • Certification/Registration:Current BLS certification.
  • Other Skills and Knowledge:Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. Basic computer knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • To work in the Ultrasound Student Imaging role, ultrasound students must be in their last half of our ultrasound training program or the last semester of their respective program/school. However, they can apply as a candidate prior to that time.Once graduated from their respective program, the candidate will be changed to an Ultrasound Tech I consistent with the career ladder for Ultrasound. The US Tech I position will not guarantee any set hours and will be PRN unless set hours are available. It is the expectation that the candidate be registered in their specialty per hospital policy.
  • In the event the Ultrasound Student does not meet the conditions for graduation from their respective program, their employment as an Ultrasound Student may be terminated by Mercy.
  • Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards
