Description

  • USP recently launched USP-ID, a software that automates quantitative nuclear magnetic resonance (qNMR) spectral analysis. We are seeking a summer intern to help benchmark software performance and identify areas for improvement.

Requirements

  • The successful candidate will have a demonstrated understanding of our mission, commitment to excellence through inclusive and equitable behaviors and practices along with the following competencies and experience:
  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, chemistry, computer science, or related STEM field
  • Experience with Python for programming and automated testing
  • Knowledge of, and interest in, pharmaceutical laboratory test procedures
  • Familiarity with NMR and qNMR or other spectroscopy techniques

  • The qNMR project will include:
  • Testing qNMR software to identify bugs and benchmark performance
  • Documenting test and workflow procedures
  • Shadowing qNMR scientists in the laboratory to learn about the technology and novel application work
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Successful project completion will help scientists around the world get better information from their NMR spectra as they perform chemical analyses in the laboratory.
