Requirements

  • Minimum of a 3.0 cumulative grade point average.
  • Undergraduate: Must be enrolled as a full-time student in a bachelor’s degree program from an accredited institution.
  • Post Undergraduate: Earned a bachelor’s degree within the past 12 months. Eligible for an internship period of up to one year.
  • Graduate: Must be enrolled as a full-time student in a master’s degree program from an accredited institution.
  • Post Graduate: Earned a master’s degree within the past 12 months. Eligible for an internship period of up to one year.
  • Graduate + PhD: Completed master’s degree and enrolled as PhD student from an accredited institution.
  • Additional Required Qualifications:
  • Candidates are required to be pursuing an undergraduate degree in a relevant engineering discipline such as chemical engineering or materials science.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • A junior or senior with at least some lab experience (research or classes) is desired.
  • Some prior experience working with batteries, fuel cells, electrocatalysis, or electrolysis is desired since the position will involve electrochemistry. Some experience in labs involving chemical work and/or glove boxes is desired. Some experience with coding for data analysis and/or machine learning is desired.

Responsibilities

  • Our projects focus on the field of energy storage. A summer intern would work on understanding battery material performance and function. This may include tasks such as chemical synthesis, materials characterization, electrochemical device fabrication and testing, and data analysis including general electrochemical analysis as well as sometimes more advanced analysis using machine learning.
