Requirements

  • Ideal candidate would be seeking to fulfill practicum or internship requirement for a university, college, or technical institute program in Civil, Biosystems, or Environmental Engineering
  • Prior experience performing engineering calculations
  • Prior experience writing technical documents
  • Possesses excellent time management skills
  • Ability to effectively discuss project issues with project team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Presentation and interview skills
  • Preferred Additional Capabilities:
  • Engineering Software experience:
  • USACE HEC-RAS (1D and 2D), USACE HEC-HMS, and USACE HEC-DSSVue
  • EPA-SWMM and/or PC-SWMM
  • ESRI ArcGIS
  • Advanced GIS experience such as Model Builder, Python, and advanced analysis tools

Responsibilities

  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling tasks for a variety of water resources projects including dams, levee systems, watershed and floodplain studies and stormwater systems
  • Assist in FEMA Risk Map studies
  • Assist in USACE H&H analyses
  • Effectively convey project work, schedules and results in technical documents
  • Conduct field investigations on various projects including but not limited to dam inspections, hydrology and hydraulic evaluations, and levee inspections
