Description

  • This role starts in early September 2024, and is based in Manchester in the Work Winning team within our Consult engine.
  • The work winning team support the Mace business by planning and managing the process through which the company secures new work. The primary function of this role is to support work winning in the Consult business, working with the Director of Work Winning to manage pipeline, progression of leads and prospects, coordinate bid management, design and writing, and support capability development across Consult to improve win rates and performance. 
  • The role combined business unit management of a team of circa 50 people with analytics and analysis, reporting, development of new concepts and proposals and process management across the work winning cycle. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Requirements

  • A future or recent graduate with a bachelor’s degree or higher in any subject

Responsibilities

  • In Bidding, you will play a key role supporting the bid lead and bid managers with coordination and administration across the work winning lifecycle, delivering tender responses in line with the company’s brand, position and processes. You will support the bid lead in translating win strategies and business objectives into smart, compelling, consistent, customer-focused, error-free documents and presentations, project managing activity through department bid plans and escalating risk to bid lead where required. Some of your main responsibilities will include:
  • Following established processes to develop and deliver high quality, client focused proposal
  • Coordinating the project/bid, analysing tender documents to define client requirements, deliverables, set deadlines and owners
  • Supporting the bid programme, highlighting interdependencies and monitoring/reporting on progress
  • Appropriate dissemination, communication of client tender clarifications, and facilitation of appropriate actions in response
  • Gathering and issuing any clarifications required to the client
  • Proofing/copying edit responses to ensure compliant, compelling, benefits-driven copy
  • Ensuring all required reviews and adjudication/sign-offs are achieved in line with Mace Way Engage
  • Coordinating the creation of additional supporting content, i.e., printed models/video/large-format printing/presentations
  • Facilitating, records and sharing lessons learnt/best practice
  • Supporting improvement activities and projects which may be focused on improving work winning team performance, or competence and capability
  • You will also work towards gaining professional membership of the Association of Project Management (APM), fully funded and supported by us.
