Requirements

  • - Qualified to HND/Degree level in an electronic/software based technology discipline or equivalent experience
  • - Experience within Tier 1 or OE sectors (on highway or off highway) with CAD
  • - Experience of ECN release and checking to drive consistent standards through the global team
  • - Experience in Siemens Teamcentre, creating parts and releasing into the database following good practice on naming conventions and smart numbering
  • - Experience working with Electrical design tools (Zuken preferred)
  • - Performing engineering calculations for electrical load balancing and wire sizing
  • - Experience working with low voltage 12/24V DC vehicle systems
  • - Understanding of good practice for E&E component placement and harness routing
  • - Comfortable working with various electronic lab tools ie Spectrum analyser, Oscilloscope, Signal Generators, DC power supplies
  • - Comfortable working with serial tools, bluetooth and over the air diagnostics
  • - A good understanding of design verification processes (DVPSOR)
  • - An ability to read and digest complex information relating to internal and external procedures and sign-off requirements
  • - Comfortable supporting and completing cause and effect analysis – Risk Assessments, FMEA, 8D, Ishikawa/fishbone

Responsibilities

  • Your Responsibilities:
  • Translate the ‘voice of the customer’ (internal and external) into a list of clear concise requirements and deliverables.
  • Selection of correct hardware platform(s) to deliver the technical solution, considering environmental and cost targets.
  • Thrive in a fast agile environment, developing prototype solutions to validate proof of concept ideas.
  • Creation of drawing release plan to satisfy delivery of the project timing/requirements.
  • Co-ordination of 3rd party support vendors when releasing new components.
  • Be able to read electronic schematic diagrams and their electrical wiring diagram counterpart.
  • Ensure design for manufacture is considered.
  • Ensure design for assembly is considered.
  • Work inline with industry standard development techniques ie clipping, bend radius of harnesses.
  • Help co-ordinate parts to support builds, ensuring latest design revisions are appraised at the earliest opportunity.
  • Sound record keeping techniques, of all designs, revisions and related updates.
  • Drive re-use of components and approaches.
  • Support of cause and effect analysis – risk assessments, FMEA, 8D, Ishikawa/fishbone.
