Requirements

  • I. EDUCATION:
  • University degree or acceptable combination of education and relevant records/information management, access/privacy, and/or legal work experience. A graduate degree or a JD/LLB is an asset.
  • II. EXPERIENCE:
  • Three years of working with access and privacy legislation in Ontario and Canada, including FIPPA and related regulations and procedures, provincial policies and orders, as well as other statutes in a higher education or public sector setting. Understanding of the University’s organizational and governance structures, practices and policies is an asset. Experience working with data management and analytics is an asset. Project management experience is an asset.
  • III. SKILLS:
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Ontario privacy legislation.
  • Familiarity with privacy legislation outside of Ontario.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Computer skills including intermediate to advanced skills working with spreadsheets.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 suite and relevant applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, etc.).
  • Intermediate to advanced skill working with Adobe Pro software.
  • Advanced research skills.
  • Familiarity with records management principles and practices.
  • Ability to manage priorities/deadlines and maintain efficiency under significant and often protracted time pressure.

Responsibilities

  • - Supports the response and management of privacy matters
  • - Processes routine requests under the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA), including communicating with requesters, faculty, staff, and others as necessary
