Responsibilities

  • May supervise clerical and administrative personnel by communicating job expectations, assigning tasks, appraising job results, and performing employee corrective actions.
  • Assists Chair/Director in any administrative tasks assigned.
  • Provides input for administrative staff recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
  • Prepares and processes physician recruitment related activities for searches, staff appointments, credentials, promotion and tenure, immigration requirements for candidates, in accordance with Compliance and Administrative Affairs offices.
  • In collaboration with Director, initiates and coordinates goals and deadlines. Creates reports and communicates data metrics. Assists with projects as well as developing and implementing policies and procedures to improve administrative operations and function of the department.
  • Maintain and process department payroll, maintains/updates personnel files for faculty, monitors calendars, coordinates/schedules meetings.
  • Ensures travel reimbursement/expenses for faculty are submitted in a timely fashion; reconcile and submit monthly expense reports as needed.
  • Types correspondence, schedules appointments, and sets interview itineraries for faculty and staff, and assists with setting of monthly faculty meeting agenda.
  • Orders supplies and equipment for the department staff and faculty.
  • May approve leave requests for staff.
