  • Experience working in a fast-paced, financial markets environment preferred, ideally in, but not limited to, Securities Lending
  • A bachelor's degree in a STEM, business or computer science related field. We will also consider recent graduates or exceptional candidates with a strong college academic background
  • Knowledgeable in programming languages and eager to advance your skills in: Python/SQL/VBA/Qlikview or equivalent
  • Ability to build dashboards using large datasets to identify themes and present talking points to clients and counterparts will be a distinct advantage

Responsibilities

  • As a junior trader in the agency lending trading team in London, you will be lending securities to banks and broker dealers. The trading team is responsible for maximizing returns for global clients through the pricing and distribution of assets as well as maintaining optimal trade rates throughout the lifecycle of the loan.
  • The successful candidate will:
  • Evaluate lending opportunities by assessing supply and demand dynamics for all lendable assets
  • Develop and maintain strong and diverse borrower relationships to ensure State Street is their primary partner
  • Leveraging your technical and coding skills you will support and drive the development of our electronic trading platform
  • Apply your analytical skillset to vast amounts of trade data. Provide quantitative analysis of the lending program identifying themes to discuss with trading, clients, business development and relationship management teams
  • Innovate and explore ways to improve current Agency Lending and vendor platforms and processes, including utilizing programming skills to create solutions where required
  • Have the opportunity to explore and develop new trade structures, strategies, and collateral types, ensuring State Street Agency Lending remains an industry leader
