Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Enrolled in an anesthesia tech program or an undergraduate nursing program.
  • Must demonstrate knowledge and skills to progress to Anesthesia Technician position.
  • Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting
  • Act 33 with renewal
  • Act 34 with renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance

Responsibilities

  • Ensure contaminated equipment is cleaned, disinfected per policy, and returned to service quickly.
  • Ensure there is adequate equipment available.
  • Terminal cleaning of anesthesia equipment and stocking of carts at the end of each day.
  • Maintain equipment cables and supplies in workroom.
  • Responsible for intra-operative blood delivery and return as per transfusion policy.
  • Prompt turn over O.R. suites between cases.
  • Must be able to perform other duties and responsibilities as directed.
  • Deliver supplies and equipment to Professional Staff as needed immediately when called for.
  • Workroom and all areas of responsibility kept clean and neat at all times.
  • Preparation of IV solutions and monitoring equipment.
  • Retrieves, prepares, and appropriately distributes equipment as directed.
