Requirements

  • Educated to degree level in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Business or similar
  • Intending to work or working towards a professional qualification (CFA, Actuarial, QFA or IIPM)
  • Proficiency with software packages (such as MS Excel, VBA, SQL, MS PowerPoint, and more) would be beneficial
  • Advanced numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Passion and inquisitiveness – we are looking for graduates who want to understand what we do and are eager to learn more
  • Commercial awareness – this helps us to provide support and advice to our clients with clarity and confidence

Responsibilities

  • You will have the opportunity to contribute to the management of a portfolio of pension schemes, interacting with trustees and employers on all aspects of retirement planning including actuarial, investment, consulting, and pension administration. Some Typical tasks include:
  • Specific tasks to the Investment Team:
  • Be involved with modelling and design of customized investment strategies for clients
  • Undertaking fund performance and manager research analysis for the team
  • Working as part of a team creating, and enhancing regular client investment performance reports and supporting materials on a timely basis
  • Specific tasks the Actuarial Team:
  • The preparation of regular actuarial valuations and the testing of results under various scenarios
  • The preparation of actuarial funding certificates and funding proposals as required under the Pensions Act
  • The preparation of accounting disclosures in relation to pension schemes to assist in the financial management of these schemes
  • Providing other general consulting support while working closely with Scheme Actuaries to service our client portfolio
  • Specific tasks the Consulting Team:
  • Contributing to the management of a portfolio of pension schemes, interacting with trustees and employers on all aspects of retirement planning
  • Coordinating project work and timely delivery of advice, including preparation of materials for client meetings as well as meeting attendance
  • Project work may include; presentations, communication campaigns, onboarding clients, among others
  • General consulting support to ensure regulatory compliance and high-quality operations and governance of pension schemes
