Requirements

  • First experience in a similar position
  • Higher technical education - electrical engineering, automation, power electronics, electronics
  • Good knowledge of electrical engineering and power electronics, in particular knowledge of electric drives and motors used in railway or e-mobility vehicles
  • Experience with simulation & programming tools – e.g. MATLAB Simulink and IEC 61131
  • Knowledge of electrical traction and / or energy storage systems is welcome
  • First experience with hybrid traction systems including diesel electric, battery and fuel-cell applications
  • Demonstrated problem solving and troubleshooting skills (both hardware and software related)
  • Ability to solve problems quickly, analytical skills, openness, quick learner, strong communicator
  • Independence, team player and good organization of work
  • Experience in working in an international environment
  • Readiness for business trips (domestic and foreign)
  • German fluent (mother tongue or for negotiations), good knowledge of English

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for complex – typically multi-discipline problems to Sales and Product Management Departments at offer stage
  • Work closely with System Integrators (vehicle OEMs) to analyze, diagnose and troubleshoot complex issues and provide appropriate and accurate technical solutions to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Cooperation with R&D, Engineering and Production at design stage
  • Acting as technical key account / technical project leader for our customers
  • Providing support to our customers and ABB internally during design, commissioning and use of the offered product
  • Organization and conducting of trainings for customers and other ABB departments
  • Identification of possible improvements and new functionalities of offered product
  • Specification, maintenance and support for engineering tools related to offered product
  • Application software for inverters and energy storage systems for railway and e-mobility applications
  • Assistant design and electrical schematics of customer interfaces
  • Specify and dimension of sub-components in the customer system environment such as heat exchangers, battery thermal management systems, protection devices
  • Dimensioning of electrical motors for traction and hydraulic pump applications
  • Commissioning support for traction package
