What are the main responsibilities of the Area Technician/Mechanic?
The main responsibilities include providing emergency repairs and routine maintenance for the NHS Trust's fleet of emergency and non-emergency vehicles, conducting MOTs, and performing maintenance and repair on various specialized equipment.
Is the ability to speak Welsh a requirement for this position?
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable, but English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply for the position.
Where will the work primarily take place?
The work is primarily undertaken in the Trust Workshops but may also occur at Trust stations or roadside locations as the need arises.
Will I be required to conduct MOTs?
Yes, the post holder is required to conduct Class 4 and Class 7 MOTs as part of their duties.
Is experience with welding required for this job?
Yes, the post holder will be expected to carry out welding (arc/mig/gas) and fabrication work.
To whom does the post holder report?
The post holder is responsible to the Workshop Managers for day-to-day work allocation and supervision but is also accountable to senior Managers in the Fleet department.
