Responsibilities

  • Negotiating term and spot contracts and managing associated volumes.
  • Prepare bid pricing for the DOT lettings in his/her area.
  • Make Phillips 66 the preferred supplier by regularly scheduled, quality customer calls.
  • Sourcing asphalt internally and possibly externally to supply negotiated spot and term contractual obligations.
  • Manage all North American roofing customer accounts.
  • Analyzing and understanding asphalt supply and demand.
  • Develop and maintain a solid relationship with the DOTs within the region.
  • Respond to customer and DOT inquiries regarding performance.
  • Monitor competition and react accordingly.
  • Managing direct sales to paving contractors, emulsion manufacturers, roofing, and commercial.
  • Monitoring daily truck liftings to tie to supply/demand balance.
  • Collaborating with logistics schedulers and planners to balance inventories.
  • Tracking regional P&L and business metrics.
  • Manage allocations when logistical issues arise, communicating the allocation to customers and managing the volumes.
  • Establishing/maintaining external industry relationships to purchase/sell asphalt and to understand markets and market drivers in assigned regions.
  • Establishing daily and term contract pricing.
  • Working with Credit to ensure P66 is working with acceptable partners.
  • Contract administration responsibilities, including contract input and amendments in SAP.
  • Providing business metrics volume performance and profitability.
  • Providing back-up for some representatives in other territories.
  • Leading efforts to resolve billing issues.
  • Providing feedback to internal management on business improvements.
  • Maximize volume and margins to extract the highest possible netback to the company.
  • Represent COP in the state transportation/paving associations.
