Description

  • To join a team of administrative and public law lawyers dealing with a range of public law matters and a variety of work types, including public law advice, planning, environment, health, information law, judicial review and other regulatory litigation and disciplinary matters. This particular role will report into a Partner in the team who primarily advises clients on planning, environmental and public law matters. Although not exclusively, a lot of your work will be in support of this Partner, working on section 106 agreements, provision of planning advice to local authorities and corporate and developer clients, advice on environmental and linked matters to clients such as Natural England, the Marine Management Organisation and Welsh Government, as well as to corporate clients, conduct of judicial reviews, and advice on related regulatory regimes. It would be beneficial if you have experience of advising clients on planning and environmental law, and/or of advising the public sector, particularly central or regional Government, non-departmental public bodies, Local Government, the NHS and/or regulatory authorities advising on statutory and administrative law obligations, vires, or with experience of conducting or defending judicial reviews.

Requirements

  • To be referred to in conjunction with your personal development plan, but to include:
  • Having responsibility for a caseload under the supervision of more senior lawyers within the team
  • Enthusiasm for the provision of marketing support e.g. preparing and presenting seminars, writing copy and reports, updating literature
  • The commitment to record time promptly and meet financial goals with a good track record in achieving targets. You will be expected to deliver seven hours chargeable time each day
