Responsibilities

  • Create and execute an internal communications strategy and plan for Unilever Canada with the Unilever Canada President and Head of Human Resources, and in alignment with the US and global communications teams to ensure consistency.
  • Write, edit and distribute announcements, emails, digital screens and intranet updates.
  • Assist in the strategic content development of Canada town halls, and key market-wide employee events.
  • Proactively develop internal communications content and campaigns that directly contribute to fulfilling the goals of the Canada internal communications strategy.
  • Execute local activation of global communications campaigns throughout the year.
  • Work closely with senior stakeholders in the Unilever Canada leadership to understand internal communications needs and provide strategic counsel and support on new initiatives, company-wide announcements, crisis communications and other support as needed.
  • Regularly monitor internal communications vehicles and employee touchpoints to improve our processes for more proactive, clear and succinct communications, and to identify new opportunities to optimize and evolve content.
  • Partner with the Senior Manager, Internal Communications, North America to support North America internal communications as needed.
  • Organize hybrid town halls and key employee events to enhance company culture, including managing logistics, organizing and running prep meetings, vendor management, development of talking points and slide creation.
  • Assist in planning and executing an annual national employee meeting.
  • Maintain calendars for editorial content, activities and events.
  • Own internal communications calendar, including email, intranet the digital communications vehicles.
  • Help prepare surveys and develop reports and analysis on employee communications and engagement.
  • Track metrics and help analyze data to inform future strategies for both written communications and employee meetings and events.
  • Serve as the point of contact for Unilever Canada’s website – Unilever.ca and Unilever.ca/fr - to ensure site maintains all legal requirements.
  • Media and Public Relations: Vet inbound Canada media inquiries and coordinate response with the North America Senior Manager of External Communications.
  • Executive Communications Support: Post on LinkedIn on behalf of Unilever Canada President. Vet inbound speaking requests and support executives in aligning messaging.
  • Reputation Management: Partner with government affairs, legal, brand teams, and other departments on incident and issues management.
