Requirements

Be dedicated and motivated to studying towards the ACA qualification
Demonstrate an ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing
Have a high level of general commercial awareness
Preferred Academic Requirements:
Must have or be on course for at least a 2:1 honours degree in any discipline
112 UCAS points (or equivalent) in your top three A-levels (excluding General Studies) equating to BBB or above
GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent) at a minimum of grade 6

Responsibilities

Develop an understanding of our clients and their businesses
Complete audit programmes and form conclusions on each individual test and section completed
Highlight issues and problems for the attention of senior auditors or managers
Become familiar with our audit and accounting software
From day one you will engage with our clients at their offices (at times this will involve travelling to client’s premises and working away) and you will be expected to:
Work as part of a team to undertake a variety of audit and accountancy tasks
Discuss queries with client staff, obtaining relevant information and explanations
Resolve queries, whether of an audit or accountancy nature
Obtain an understanding of related services such as Corporate Tax through on-the-job and structured training
Attend a range of internal training sessions including industry experience and soft skills
Communicate in a professional manner with clients
Work as part of a team – this is essential to your role at every level and will also require self-management as your role develops
Understand from your manager the scope of tasks allocated and objectives to be achieved
Keep seniors and managers fully informed of any issues and problems
Ensure work is completed to a level agreed with the manager and recorded clearly and concisely
Prioritise tasks whilst monitoring time against budget
Support department events and procedures and build relationships within UHY
