  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with autism, assisting them in accessing the curriculum and achieving their learning goals.
  • Foster a nurturing and understanding atmosphere where students feel safe and valued, promoting their social and emotional development.
  • Work closely with teachers and other staff to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies tailored to each student’s needs.
  • Support effective communication between students, teachers, and parents/guardians, ensuring all stakeholders are informed and involved in the student’s progress.
  • Encourage and empower students to develop their independence and life skills, promoting self-confidence and resilience.
  • Regularly assess and track student progress, providing feedback to teachers and contributing to progress reports and reviews.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff and other support assistants to create a cohesive learning environment that meets the diverse needs of all students.
