What are the working hours for the Radiographer position?
The working hours include normal hours along with out of hours as part of the out of hours team, working weekends and evenings as part of core hours.
Where will the successful candidates be based?
The successful candidates will be based at Darent Valley Hospital and Gravesend Radiology departments, with the opportunity to rotate through the Radiology Department at Queen Mary’s Hospital Sidcup.
What modalities will I be working with as a Radiographer?
You will work with an extensive range of modalities including DR, CT, MRI, ultrasound, breast imaging, nuclear medicine, bone densitometry, Lithotripsy, interventional and cardiac angiography, as well as all aspects of general and fluoroscopic radiography.
Is there an opportunity for professional development?
Yes, radiographer role extension and continuing professional development (CPD) are actively encouraged and supported, with opportunities for postgraduate studies.
Will I be expected to work on-call shifts?
Yes, the role includes undertaking on-call, out of hours, shift working, standby, and flexible working practices that meet the needs of the service.
What is the team environment like?
You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team within the Directorate, collaborating with 70+ Radiographers and other healthcare professionals.
Are there vaccination requirements for staff?
Yes, all staff are strongly encouraged to be vaccinated against COVID-19 and annually vaccinated against Flu to protect the health and safety of patients and colleagues.
