What is the working schedule for this position?
The position is for 21 hours a week and includes weekend work once a month as part of a 7-day service.
Is this position for a permanent role?
No, this is a 12-month maternity cover position.
What are the primary areas of work for this role?
The role involves working in ICU, Medical Respiratory, Surgical Respiratory, and Paediatrics.
Will I be expected to lead other staff members?
Yes, the post holder will provide senior leadership to their specialist area and may deputize for the Band 7 when required.
What type of patients will I be working with?
You will work with patients presenting with a wide range of respiratory pathologies, both in inpatient settings and outpatient clinics, including home visits.
Will I be responsible for educating others?
Yes, you will provide education to physiotherapists, students, non-registered staff, other healthcare professionals, GPs, Consultants, patients, and their carers.
Is there support available for the post holder?
Yes, regular supervision, formal training, clinical reasoning sessions, and peer review are available, along with access to senior physiotherapists for advice and support.
Are there opportunities for research in this role?
Yes, you will be involved in collecting data for service audit and research projects, and managing specific areas of clinical practice and service delivery research.
How does the team work together?
The team works closely and flexibly with each other and other members of the MDT on the wards, supporting all team members on a daily basis.
