What is the primary role of a Band 7 Manual Handling Advisor?
The primary role of a Band 7 Manual Handling Advisor is to support the Senior Manual Handling Advisor in all manual handling service functions, acting as a subject matter expert for manual handling training and ensuring training reflects current best practices and industry standards.
What responsibilities will I have regarding training?
The post holder will develop and support the delivery of manual handling training across the Trust and ensure the quality of training provided by Trust trainers and external contracted trainers.
Will I be required to manage any staff?
Yes, the post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day management and performance of the manual handling trainer.
What kind of support will I provide to other teams?
The post holder will provide support, advice, and training in all areas of manual handling, including patient handling and the handling of inanimate loads, as well as general health and safety support as needed.
How will I contribute to health and safety initiatives?
You will contribute to the implementation of the Trust Health and Safety Strategy and Risk Management Standards, producing policies, procedures, and communications to assist Trust management and staff in complying with health and safety legislation and best practices.
Will I be involved in incident investigations?
Yes, the post holder will conduct thorough incident investigations to identify root causes and recommend remedial actions to prevent or reduce harm.
Who will I be working closely with in this role?
You will work closely with colleagues from the Health & Safety, Risk, Patient Safety, Legal, and Datix teams within the Patient Safety and Risk Department.
