What educational qualifications are required for this role?
Candidates must have an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent military education; or be a participant in the formal GEHC Biomed/FE Services Internship or Military Externship program; or have a High School Diploma/GED and 2+ years of experience servicing electrical, electronics, IT, or mechanical equipment.
Are there any special physical requirements for this position?
Yes, candidates must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 lbs. unassisted and frequently bend, stoop, twist, climb, crouch/squat, kneel/crawl, sit and stand for long periods of time.
Will there be any on-call responsibilities?
Yes, when trained, the Biomedical Engineer 1 may share on-call responsibilities and should be willing to work a rotating On-Call schedule, including weekends, for critical issues and coverage as necessary.
