What experience is required for the Biomedical Scientist/Specialist Biomedical Scientist role in Biochemistry?
Candidates should have Biochemistry experience post-registration and experience of working out of hours. An IBMS specialist portfolio in Clinical Biochemistry or equivalent is required for Band 6 appointments, while candidates working towards their specialist portfolio may be appointed at Band 5.
Is this position suitable for recent graduates?
This position is geared towards candidates with post-registration experience in Biochemistry. However, those working towards their specialist portfolio may be considered for a Band 5 role.
Will I need to work night shifts or weekends?
Yes, the successful candidate will be required to participate in a 24/7 out of hours rota, which includes night shifts and weekends.

You will have access to state-of-the-art equipment, including the largest fully automated Roche tracking system in Europe, various Roche analysers, and specialized instruments for Mass Spectrometry, HPLC, and other analytical methods.
