Responsibilities

  • Service Sustainability Strategy : The primary responsibility involves leading the integration of the group-wide sustainability strategy into the Service BU and Service offering. This includes orchestrating strategic initiatives related to sustainability, energy transition, circularity and decarbonization across the BU.
  • Thought Leadership and Expertise : Provides sustainability expertise by assisting the organization in understanding compliance obligations (e.g. CSRD), liabilities, stakeholder and customer expectations (e.g. SBTi). Maintains the relevant sustainability-related competencies through continuous professional development opportunities. Contributes to thought leadership and futureproofing of the business in terms of sustainability.
  • Sustainability Reporting : Ensures that the objectives, targets, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are clear and allocated to the relevant business levels. In collaboration with respective functions, reports sustainability performance and progress with respect to the implementation of the group-level sustainability objectives and KPIs.
  • Collaboration and Implementation : Drives collaboration with the Sustainability function and other BUs and within the Regions, to ensure the successful implementation of the sustainability strategy. This includes identifying potential business opportunities and partnerships, fomenting knowledge and best-practices sharing, and ensuring priorities and initiatives are implemented. Collaborates with business and other functions to drive behavioral change.
  • Sustainability Function : Assists the organization in establishing clear roles and responsibilities for the successful integration of sustainability strategy into the business strategy, with a focus on competence and capacity. Ensures that their own area of responsibility is appropriately organized, staffed, skilled, and directed.
  • Stakeholder Engagement : Engages with external stakeholders (e.g., customers, suppliers) and internal stakeholders to report on, raise awareness of, gain commitment to, and obtain objective feedback on Hitachi Energy’s sustainability efforts and performance. Gather insights on competitive sustainability offerings and evaluate them against Hitachi Energy’s solutions to deliver superior value to our customers.
