Description
- Due to the continued growth of the business, we are currently looking for a passionate, driven and energetic Analyst to join the business, focusing on petrochemical markets.
- You will work on a range of consultancy projects, mainly in the chemicals space to provide our clients with the in-depth analysis, insight and perspective they require. Argus offers bespoke consulting across a range of projects including transaction due diligence, market studies, feasibility studies, market entry analysis, and other commercial support. You will play a key role in building the business through development of propositions, products and services. Our team numbers about 45 in London, and has a real ambition to continue growing. Individuals that have a ‘can-do’ attitude and are prepared to play a role in all aspects of building the business will thrive. The opportunities for reward are excellent.
Requirements
- 1-2 years’ experience in petrochemicals market analysis
- Graduate/Masters degree from a top tier university
- Highly numerate with experience analysing data quickly and meticulously with excellent attention to detail and accuracy focus
- Intellectually curious and able to demonstrate structured problem solving and analytical skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong IT skills including advanced Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to handle multiple tasks to deadline and to meet targets
- Flexible in approach, highly motivated and willing to contribute to the growth of Argus’ Consulting Services.

Responsibilities
- Develop data sets and models to support the forecasting of supply, demand, capacity, imports and exports, price, production costs and margin for commodity and specialty chemicals across the different value chains include olefins, aromatics, polymers, methanol, chlor-alkali and their derivatives
- Maintain and develop fundamentals data and analysis for chemicals markets, to apply expertise to Consulting projects and off-the-shelf reports
- Lead components of delivery, under guidance from project managers, providing input to client projects
- Liaise with Argus staff to ensure current knowledge of Argus products and maintain current knowledge of major drivers and trends across chemicals markets
- Work with consulting colleagues and subject matter experts to expand coverage and expertise in energy transition and sustainability within the chemicals sector
- Work with commodity analysts around the globe to extract maximum value out of data collected across the organisation and to deliver integrated analysis
- Support the development and commercialisation of new data-driven products
- Play a role in development of the consulting practice
