Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required
  • Engineer in Training certification preferred
  • 1 to 2 years of experience as a civil engineer, preferably with experience in site layout, stormwater, erosion control, utilities, and other infrastructure systems
  • Related internship experience for entry-level candidates is required
  • Proficiency AutoCAD and Civil3D
  • MicroStation and experience in stormwater modeling using WaterCAD or SWMM software is desired

Responsibilities

  • Assist and support designs and construction projects by studying project concept, architectural drawings, and models
  • Assist the preparation of engineering designs by collecting and studying reports, maps, drawings, aerial photographs, and tests on soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and related topographical and geologic data
  • Create feasibility study by analyzing engineering design, conducting environmental impact studies, and assembling data
  • Prepare design documents and reports for civil site development (site layout, grading, drainage, erosion control, utilities, and other infrastructure systems)
  • Perform calculations, prepare cost estimates, drawings, technical specifications, and write reports
  • Assist in the production of engineering documents by developing construction specifications, plans, and schedules
  • Perform limited field observations in support of construction and data collection
  • May assist in the training of junior staff and guide designers
