Responsibilities

  • To help provide a comprehensive pharmaceutical service with emphasis on the supply of medicines to an acute mental health ward.
  • This post is predominantly ward based, however there may be times that outpatient and clinic cover may be required.
  • The successful applicant will also participate with audit, medicines reconciliation, medicines optimisation and discharge facilitation.
  • You will support the team with medicines supply for the unit and will support the use of the electronic prescribing system.
  • Participate in local and national audits and monitor compliance with medicines legislation and national and local standards for the safe and secure handling of medicines.
  • Act as a key member of the multidisciplinary ward team and the wider pharmacy team.
  • There may be a requirement to travel to other sites within the Trust.
