What are the main responsibilities of the Clinical Research Team Leader?
The main responsibilities include overseeing and coordinating the clinical, managerial, and educational requirements of the clinical research team, ensuring a balanced portfolio of commercial and non-commercial trials, meeting performance targets, and facilitating the introduction of new business to aid income generation.
What qualifications are required for this role?
Candidates should have proven skills in a research and/or clinical management role, as well as familiarity with qualitative and quantitative research and clinical trials.
Who will I be working with in this position?
You will work with the wider clinical teams across the organization, the central R&D team, clinical research network staff, and commercial partners to identify suitable studies aimed at improving patient care.
Is line management a part of this role?
Yes, you will be responsible for line managing and developing a team of research staff, leading by example, and empowering them in their personal and professional development.
How is the performance of the clinical research delivery team measured?
Performance targets include recruitment time to target, capacity and demand forecasting, and overall success in meeting the objectives set for clinical research activities.
What is the team's approach to ensuring participant safety and well-being?
The team supports the safe conduct of research in accordance with the Research Governance Framework and Good Clinical Practice guidelines to protect the rights, safety, and well-being of trial participants.
