Requirements

  • Minimum of three years in nephrology nursing required.
  • Experience in both peritoneal dialysis and home hemodialysis required.
  • Previous teaching experience preferred.
  • Previous outpatient experience preferred.
  • Graduate of an approved Registered Nursing education program required.
  • Bachelor of Nursing preferred.
  • Manitoba Nephrology Nursing Course or equivalent required.
  • Current C.R.N.M. registration required.

Responsibilities

  • Under the general direction of the Site Coordinator – Nephrology and the Patient Care Team Manager – Dialysis and while demonstrating a commitment to the mission, values and management philosophy of Seven Oaks General Hospital, the Renal Health Nurse Clinician provides clinical nursing care to chronic renal failure patients, to include: providing expert nursing care to selected patients and their families; collaborating with the Multidisciplinary team in the planning, implementation and evaluation of care; initiating diagnostic and therapeutic investigations/interventions; acting as a clinical and information resource; participating in orientation and educational activities; participating in rounds; participates in renal clinics & renal outreach activities; participating in clinical research projects; and performing other related duties as assigned.
