Responsibilities

  • The Variant Scientist functions in the clinical lab interpretive team, evaluating germline next generation test results for patients. The Variant Scientist evaluates functional, computational, clinical, and other data to classify variants utilizing the ACMG 2015 guidelines and summarizes pertinent data for patient reports. Other relevant guidelines may be utilized for evaluating variants.
