Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and development of corporate communications projects.
  • Provide communications counsel to departments on communications materials and branding guidelines.
  • Write for various marketing pieces and other writing for internal/external publications and reports.
  • Develop communications plans with an assortment of communications vehicles that align with the goals of communications, such as media releases, social media messaging, memos, emails, advertisements, web content, etc.
  • Assist in the development and oversight of a corporate social media strategy that aligns with BCHS’s strategic vision and promotes and enhances the organization’s brand reputation.
  • Develops messaging and monitors social media Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram for various initiatives or issues.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of crisis communications.
  • Arrange print, web and radio advertisements as appropriate.
  • Participate on various committees including Signage, Employee Recognition, and Wellness.
  • Manage external suppliers such as graphic designers, consultants, videographers and photographers, as required.
  • Lead video development for various campaigns.
  • Lead photography for various campaigns, including social media content.
  • Responsible for updating the BCHS website and helps to develop content for the BCHS Intranet.
  • Lead the planning and execution of events, as well as aid with the events of other stakeholders throughout BCHS.
  • Participate in the “Communications On-Call” model.

The Brant Community Healthcare System (BCHS) in Brantford and Paris Ontario, is a leading community health care organization with a total of 262 beds and more than 2,300 staff, physicians and volunteers providing support, programs and services to over 120,000 residents in our community. In 1999, The Willett Hospital in Paris and the Brantford General Hospital became the first two partners in the BCHS. The Brantford General Hospital is a regional acute health centre and the Willett site provides urgent care and ambulatory services for those in need. The BCHS has been awarded the 'Gold' Quality Healthcare Workplace award by the Ontario Hospital Association and Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care for two years in a row and are an affiliated teaching site of the McMaster University Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine.
