Directorate: Chief Executive’s
Hours: 37 hours a week, including occasional evenings and weekends. Part time hours considered
Contract Type: Fixed term until March 2026
Location: Council House and hybrid working

We’re looking for an experienced communications professional to join our ambitious Communications and Marketing team.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong communications, PR and marketing background, who is confident, diplomatic and enthusiastic.

As one of our three Communications Officers, you’ll be responsible for developing and delivering insight-based, creative promotional communication and marketing campaigns, that deliver against our business objectives. You will also work on the Council’s busy media desk, liaising and working closely with local and national press, so good PR skills, a strong news sense, and experience of writing news articles, press releases, statements and other media content is essential, as well as experience of working with and managing media relations.

We’re an extremely busy team, but we think our people are some of the best out there! The team is personable, professional, and innovative, and we want our new Communications Officer to mirror those qualities.

You’ll be customer-focussed with a creative outlook, combining a wide range of skills and experience across communications and marketing with plenty of initiative and enthusiasm.
