Responsibilities

  • You will work as part of a team, supporting those with responsibility for progressing each file from receipt of papers from the insurer client to resolution of the claim.
  • The role will include:
  • Delivery of agreed performance targets and quality standards
  • Preparing Court documents including AOS’ and NOAs; filing and serving Court documents; and diarising of Court Orders and hearing dates;
  • Preparing generic/standard letters to clients;
  • Fielding telephone calls and dealing with general queries; together with liaising with parties involved in claims including policy holders, insurers, experts and witnesses;
  • Arranging appointments with third parties for inspections, site visits; chasing for expert reports; applying for records;
  • Arranging conferences with client and counsel and experts; obtaining availability for application hearings, JSMs and trials;
  • Liaison with witnesses including about their availability for conferences and trials; drafting of witness summons;
  • Use of Collaborate to upload documents; providing access to clients, experts and Counsel;
  • Maintaining Tracker with details of new proceedings and new involvements so as to keep the digital file current;
  • Creating indexes and bundles using Bundledocs; and/or preparing documents digitally for use by Counsel and experts;
  • Using Foxit to split files and save into Tracker document library;
  • Sorting and collating incoming/outgoing documents/bundles from various platforms and ensuring that tracker site is usable for lawyers;
  • Arranging payments where required; monitoring and processing client account balances;
  • Final billing, write offs and file closure processes.
  • As competency in role grows tasks will include:
  • Instructions to counsel
  • Liaising with witnesses for evidence/documents
