What qualifications are required for the Consultant Interventional Radiology position?
The candidate must be a graduate of an approved Medical School with a valid license to practice medicine, certification by the American Board of Radiology or possession of a FRCR (Canada) in Diagnostic Radiology or the English FRCR (or equivalent), and specialized training or 4 years of experience as a practicing radiologist.
Is knowledge of the Arabic language necessary for this role?
No, knowledge of the Arabic language is desirable but not essential.
What kind of radiological examinations will the consultant be expected to interpret?
The consultant will interpret all types of general radiological examinations, including those requiring fluoroscopy, special procedures, angiography, ultrasound, radioisotopes, CT, and MRI scanning.
Will the consultant work with technologists?
Yes, the consultant will work with technologists and, when appropriate, instruct them in specialized views and positioning of patients, particularly for unusual or difficult problems.
Is participation in any quality programs required in this position?
Yes, the consultant is expected to participate in the Quality Improvement Program of the hospital to meet international standards.
What type of coverage is provided in this role?
The consultant is responsible for providing on-call emergency coverage.
Are there any requirements regarding communication skills?
Yes, excellent command of oral and written English is required, along with strong communication and interpersonal skills applicable to interaction with co-workers, superiors, patients, and families.
What ethical standards must a consultant adhere to?
The consultant must have a thorough knowledge of medical ethics, particularly in maintaining patient confidentiality, and must adhere to the Bylaws, Rules, and Regulations of the Medical Organization.

The consultant will participate in the orientation of new technologists and new radiologists as part of their duties.
What licenses are necessary to practice in this position?
Current licensure in the candidate's country of origin and a DHA license to practice in Dubai, U.A.E., are required.
