Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a health sciences field, plus three (3) to five (5) years of recent, related experience in undergraduate/post-graduate education; or one which reflects discrete aspects of the role, e.g. clinical placement
  • Training and/or experience in mediation and conflict resolution
  • Training and/or experience in coaching
  • Proven experience in tactical planning, people management, and change management
  • Experience and knowledge of the post-secondary system an asset
  • Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Class 5 Driver’s License

Responsibilities

  • 1. Lead, develop, coordinate and implement strategic and transparent business processes in the Student Practice Education portfolio.
  • 2. Ensure centralized processes are in place to support student practice education and meet NH’s operational training needs and workforce challenges.
  • 3. Act as a liaison for cultivating environments of mutual collaboration between educational institutions, Northern Health practice environments and administrative departments.
  • 4. Support student learning, student placements, as well as recruitment and retention of health care professionals.
  • 5. Manage organizational processes associated with the Employed Student Nurse (ESN) program and the New Graduate Transition program.
  • 6. Oversee Specialty Education initiatives.
