Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Finance, Economics or related field or equivalent combination of work and education experience
  • 0 to 3 years of related actuarial experience in the insurance industry
  • Passing grade on at least one actuarial exam; successful completion of at least two actuarial exams is preferred
  • Ability to learn and apply basic actuarial concepts with supervision
  • Proficiency with SQL, MS Excel, ResQ, R and relational databases a plus
  • Self-starter with a solution-oriented approach to work
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player
  • Adaptability to succeed during time of significant organization transformation
  • Experience in a global, multicultural, matrix organization preferred
  • Position is routinely expected to travel 10% of time.

Responsibilities

  • Engage the local businesses and other Corporate Actuarial hubs to implement the AzP reserving strategy
  • Perform full actuarial valuation of claims and premium reserves of several Business Units within the region, covering multiple AzP lines of business
  • Analyze and discuss underwriting performance with the local businesses
  • Project expected technical profitability as input into planning procedures
  • Contribute to the development of the actuarial technical data warehouse
  • Support other group systems developments and actuarial projects
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
