Responsibilities

  • The work that comes into the team is varied. Each member of our team is assigned to one of the divisionally aligned subteams. Whilst predominantly carrying out work for your subteam, you can expect to work on a variety of assignments from across all of the Firm's divisions, which gives you a good insight into the workings of a commercial law firm. The specific Corporate and Commercial assignments you will be working on can include the following:
  • Providing transactional support on corporate projects, including managing electronic data rooms/sites, uploading and ordering documentation, and liaising with third parties
  • Reviewing and reporting on contracts and other documentation as part of a corporate due diligence exercise, and redacting documents in line with client instructions
  • Attending disclosure meetings and preparing first draft disclosure letters
  • Preparing for completion, including finalising documents for execution and assisting with completion meetings
  • All elements of post completion work, including drafting ancillary documents such as stock transfer forms, board minutes and rolling out pro forma documents, and producing bibles
  • Reviewing and redacting documents in response to Subject Access Requests under the GDPR legislation
  • Proofreading large contracts and other documents for quality, consistency and content
  • Checking legal documents for quality, consistency and content
  • Drafting and producing legal documentation and standard forms
  • Providing support to our clients on-site
  • Any additional tasks as required by the business

Benefits

  • Life Assurance

    The firm provides life insurance of four times salary. This is automatically arranged for you from your start date but you may wish to consider completing an Expression of Wish form when joining the firm. Cover up to age 75 and maybe subject to underwriting.

  • Pension

    The firm offers membership to a Group Personal Pension Plan which is available to all employees with a matched contribution by the firm of 5% of salary. To meet the auto enrolment legislation all employees will be assessed for membership in the first month in which a salary is paid, and subject to meeting the requirements, membership will be deferred for 3 months.

    The firm offers the ability, on an annual basis (April), to buy/sell a maximum of one week's holiday in each holiday year. Payments are taken in 12 equal monthly instalments via salary. Holiday carried over from a previous holiday year will limit the ability to buy/sell further holiday.
