Requirements

  • Qualified candidates must have a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering with structural coursework.
  • Engineering in Training Certificate (E.I.T.) required.
  • Master of Science degree in Structural Engineering is .
  • 0 to 5 years of experience with concrete, steel, masonry, and/or wood design is required.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit and structural engineering design software (RISA, SAP, and/or TSD) is required.
  • Technical writing skills related to field investigation/inspection reporting, document development, and emails.
  • Ability to develop, maintain, and format Microsoft Excel spreadsheets.

Responsibilities

  • Duties
  • - Determine structural loading criteria, perform complex design calculations, and prepare structural specifications.
  • - Perform field investigations and condition assessments of hydropower related infrastructure including dams, penstocks, gates/valves, etc. under the guidance of a Senior Structural Engineer.
  • - Work closely with other engineering disciplines.
  • - Produce construction documents using Revit (BIM) or AutoCAD.
  • - Review shop drawings, respond to RFI’s and perform field observations during CA phase.
  • - Communicate effectively both formally and informally in all typical platforms (in person, written, email, phone, video conference).
