Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Statistics, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Physics, or field of comparable foundations in mathematical / statistical analysis and programming.
  • 1+ years’ experience with any of the following programming languages: R, Python, Java, C++, C#, Scala, SAS, MATLAB or similar scripting languages. Similar experience and proficiency with SQL required.
  • 1+ years’ experience across data science disciplines including, but not limited to forecasting, exploratory data analysis, experiment design, machine learning, industrial engineering, economics, and numerical optimization / linear programming.
  • Experience with statistical methods such t-test of means, Tukey-HSD tests of means on groups, ANOVA, Proportion tests, data normalization and scaling, univariate and multivariate outlier detection.
  • Experience with modeling techniques such as linear regression, generalized linear models, decision trees and random forests, neural networks, k-nearest-neighbor, support vector machines, cluster analyses, and ensemble methods.
  • Strong Oral and Written skills.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in a large corporation or consulting firm with focus in marketing strategies, modeling, CRM and management sciences highly desired.
  • Experience with Linear Programming and Deterministic Optimization a big plus.
  • Experience with frameworks and languages designed for big-data analysis, including Hadoop, Spark, Hive, and Pig.
  • Experience with cloud computing frameworks or API’s such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services and IBM / Watson.
  • Knowledge & Skills:
  • Have a background and interest in one or more of the following: Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Analysis, Experiment Design, Machine Learning, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Management Science, Economics, and Numerical Optimization / Linear Programming.
  • 1+ years of experience using Python and common Python toolkits for Machine Learning. (Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn)
  • Familiar with tools used for reporting and dashboard creation (PowerBI, Tableau)
  • Demonstrates a strong capacity for learning and assimilating new techniques, tools and methods.
  • Comfortable with preparing or collaborating on presentation decks as well as delivering final stakeholder presentations as primary or supporting presenter.
  • Is passionate about your work, but willing to support several projects at one time and can accept reprioritization as necessary.

  • The candidate should show the ability to use these skills to improve existing and create new business processes and measure their impact.
  • The candidate should be eager to work on various types of production machine-learning processes, have a high level of curiosity, be results-oriented, have an aptitude for understanding business problems, and - most importantly - enjoy problem solving.
  • Lastly, the candidate should be interested in the intersection of machine learning with traditional operations research, industrial engineering, and management science areas.
  • Major Responsibilities Include:
  • Working with internal Data Science teams on model performance validation and identifying areas of opportunity. Collaborating with the Data Science teams to perform analyses that will guide a continuous model improvement process for existing projects.
  • Working with Data Science teams and internal business teams to quantify financial impact of existing projects and future improvements. Creating structured reports for monitoring business impact KPIs and their relations to production model results.
  • Work with Data Science and Business Teams to construct A/B tests that help identify new areas of opportunity for data science projects.
  • Collaborate with Business stakeholders to design and implement R&D prototypes into broader automated systems and establish a Minimum Viable Product.
  • Assist with research related to customer based analytical practice and develop communications for management and strategies for building institutional knowledge.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
