Requirements

  • MEP & CSA background required. (Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial engineering preferred but Architectural / Structural / Civil could be acceptable)
  • Minimum 8 to 10 years of experience in the Construction industry.
  • Solid experience required coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
  • Project management experience across all design phases (design fees time / cost management)
  • Proven experience managing large teams
  • Experience working on a BIM environment.
  • General knowledge of Spanish regulations, CTE, statutory permits.
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and Organisational skills
  • Pride in the quality and presentation of work
  • Excellent communication skills in both Spanish & English
  • Data centre/Industrial projects experience required
  • Main contractor experience preferred but design/engineering office background acceptable

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance of controlled document registers and associated documentation.
  • Management of design, surveying, and the BIM modelling team.
  • Management of design and coordination for off-site pre-manufacturing (client and contractor procured equipment)
  • Value Engineering opportunities, Collaborate on new design issues or changes.
  • Construction Methodology and sequence of installation
  • Technical submittal approvals
  • Shop drawing approvals
  • Co-ordination of contractor’s design works (CDP)
  • Support commercial team with design change costs.
  • Assist in developing Design Delivery Schedule along with client, Project Manager, Design team and consultants.
  • Develop comprehensive scope-of-work and contract document deliverables list for each related discipline.
  • Negotiate scope-of-work, deliverables, and price with consulting firms.
  • Procure the design from a consultant design partner from initial tender enquiry to appointment.
  • Assist Project Manager in incorporating onto a tracking sheet all internal and external design and cost issues. (Risk management)
  • Manage distribution and production of project workload within the project team and design consultant team.
  • Collaborate on new design issues/changes and research projects with team.
  • Review completed design is accurate and precise.
  • Manage design document control.
  • Project prioritization of design, assignment, and management to designers.
  • Lead with effective supervision an experienced design team to ensure delivery on schedule.
  • Implement recovery strategy if slippage is detected.
  • Assist technically internal and external customers.
  • Planning, programming and reporting
  • Participate in design meetings and provide continual input to optimize design and minimize futile work.
  • Liaising with clients, insurance companies, consultants and architects.
  • Working in accordance with company procedures & guidelines.
  • Managing the integration of the specialists’ models and fabrication drawings across all disciplines to ensure there is a co-ordinated design to be taken to site teams.
