Responsibilities

  • Storytelling product design:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create visually stunning animations and illustrations that elevate storytelling on digital platforms.
  • Design and execute compelling animations and illustrations that communicate narrative ideas and concepts effectively.
  • Contribute to the brand’s visual language by crafting innovative motion graphics and illustrated assets that captivate and engage audiences.
  • Bring a strong sense of storytelling and emotion to projects through illustration and animation, ensuring visual coherence across platforms.
  • Illustration and Asset Creation:
  • Develop custom illustrations and assets for use in animations, digital stories, and visual content.
  • Ensure illustrations align with brand guidelines and storytelling needs, while maintaining a high level of creativity and originality.
  • Transform complex ideas into clear and engaging visuals, using illustration and animation to enhance audience understanding and enjoyment.
  • Maintain a consistent visual style across projects, working with other designers and teams to establish a cohesive aesthetic.
  • Motion Graphics and Animation:
  • Design and execute animations that add depth and emotion to storytelling projects, including short sequences, transitions, and looping animations.
  • Utilise motion graphics to enhance visual storytelling, adding personality and context to static illustrations.
  • Ensure all animations are optimised for digital platforms, maintaining a balance between creativity and technical performance.
  • Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with editorial, engineering, product and other designers to understand project goals, user needs, and business requirements.
  • Foster a collaborative and communicative design process that includes regular feedback loops.
  • Research and Innovation:
  • Stay up-to-date with trends in illustration, animation, and visual storytelling, ensuring designs remain fresh and relevant.
  • Experiment with new tools, techniques, and styles to push the boundaries of traditional illustration and animation.
  • Advocate for innovative approaches to visual storytelling that elevate user engagement and brand identity.
