Requirements

  • You have 10+ years of experience in software development with 3+ years of experience in Engineering Management
  • You are passionate about and have proven experience coaching and mentoring team members and helping them grow.
  • You have System Design experience and are able to understand how things are deployed and scaled out. Understanding the SaaS architecture piece.
  • You have experience managing projects end-to-end with customer-facing impact.
  • You’re a hands-on manager, able to contribute to design documents, write code, and perform code reviews when necessary.
  • You have experience working with Product on feature, technical, architectural, and UX design specifications.
  • You have proficiency in managing all aspects of PDLC/SDLC and successfully driving complex projects to completion.
  • You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Have experience working with teams across time zones.
  • Nice to Have:
  • Experience with SMS from a technical and ecosystem standpoint.
  • Python experience is valuable but not required.
  • Experience working with both monolithic and microservices architectures.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and mentor a team of software engineers.
  • Own features that thousands of our customers rely on daily to drive their business forward.
  • Coordinate a team of 4-6 engineers to deliver projects that enhance Klaviyo’s international reach.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams (based in the US and EMEA) to define project scope, requirements, and timelines, and ensure timely and successful project delivery.
  • Think in systems, help design and improve architectural patterns to ensure they are performant and scalable.
  • Make decisions and own outcomes around infrastructure, application logic, documentation, product changes, UI and more.
  • Actively participate in code reviews and contribute to the development of technical solutions to complex problems.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and collaboration within the Engineering, Product, and Design organizations.
  • Participate in the technical interview process to help maintain a high bar for our growing teams.
