Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil and/or Structural Engineering with an emphasis in structures from an ABET-accredited university or college.
  • Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam is strongly encouraged.
  • Working knowledge of reading plans and shop drawings and evaluating contractor compliance with construction plans and specifications.
  • Team oriented engineer and strong communicator with ability to work concurrently within multiple projects demands and transitioning priorities.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.), AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
  • Be eager to learn, be a team player and be enthusiastic.

  • Interest or experience in rope access techniques (SPRAT, IRATA).
  • No relocation assistance - local candidates preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performing bridge and tunnel inspection assignments as an inspection team member while documenting inspection findings and preparing inspection reports throughout MA and the US.
  • Participating in bridge design assignments involving contract plans preparation and specifications, design calculations, calculation of quantities and development of cost estimates.
  • Performing load rating analyses.
  • Office support for construction support services.
  • Reviewing shop drawing submittals. Organize submittals and address questions from contractors during the construction phases of structures.
  • Assist or participate in preparation of business proposals.
