Requirements

  • Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering (Structural Emphasis) or Bachelors of Science in Architectural Engineering (Structural Option) from an ABET accredited school.
  • Experience in MS-Office; Experience with Structural analysis and CADD programs such as AutoCAD, Microstation, RAM, REVIT and STAADPRO preferred.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Actively engages multiple perspectives when solving problems, seeks to learn from peers, and encourages reciprocal learning among team members.
  • Must be a US Citizen.

  • EIT (Preferred)
  • Masters Degree (preferred)
  • Working Conditions:
  • Majority of work conducted in the office. Occasionally, will be requested to assist in field evaluations.
  • Must be able to carry 30-50 lbs and able to climb ladders.
  • Overtime varies as required (±5 Hours/Week).

Responsibilities

  • Work with National and Local Building Codes, develop loads.
  • Assist with structural design and analysis (steel, concrete, wood, masonry) associated with building and marine structures, foundations and equipment support, framing/bracing, and any other tasks as assigned.
  • Assist in modeling/analyzing lateral systems.
  • Assist with preparing project cost estimates.
  • Assist in evaluation studies and help to develop reports.
  • Assist with field work during design, analysis and construction phases. Daily tasks may include field inspection work, concrete testing, rebar, structural steel, metal stud and metal deck inspections, structural repair inspections, writing field reports and transcribing field notes into report form.
  • Assist in submittal review process, including structural steel fabrication drawings, proprietary systems, performance design items, concrete reinforcement drawings and concrete mix designs.
  • Assist with design & document/deliverable coordination with other project disciplines.
  • Work with structural computer analysis and graphical software packages and MS Office.
